Nancy Mace After President Trump Endorses Challenger ‘I’m Gonna Win Without Him’

“I’m gonna win without him,” Mace Told The State.

According to The Daily Caller, Trump endorsed Katie Arrington over Mace earlier in February, calling her “a true Republican” while slamming Mace as “an absolutely terrible candidate.”

Arrington came into the race on February 8th earning President Trump’s endorsement one day later. Mace had previously condemned President Trump, saying his “legacy was wiped out” on January 6th. Mace also accused President Trump of putting “all our lives at risk.

Arrington beat former Republican Rep. Mark Sanford in a primary in 2018.

Mace then made a video standing in front of Trump Tower claiming to run on his policies. “I supported him again because of policies I believed in,” she said. “If you want to lose this seat once again in the midterm election cycle to Democrats, then my opponent is more than qualified to do just that,” Mace said in the video.

Mace then defended herself from accusations of groveling saying, “if you call it groveling, I would say you didn’t watch the video.” On the contrary her problem has been her being out of sink with The GOP MAGA base.

Her rhetoric and decisions have at times made her sound more like a RINO then a candidate of the America First variety. Mace has in word and deed proved her disloyalty to the Republican base and the policies of the Populist conservative wing of the party. Mace claims to remain loyal to The Trumpian policies though clearly President Trump views things very differently.
