Nayib Bukele Calls out the United States Government for Criticizing El Salvador’s Pro-Law & Order Policies

Ever since president of El Salvador Nayib Bukele unveiled a new mega prison towards the end of February, his government has received criticism from Western public officials and the usual assortment of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

This mega prison was created to house potentially 40,000 prisoners, mainly from criminal gangs such as MS-13 and Barrio 18. Thousands of detained gang members were transferred to the prison dubbed as the “Center for the Confinement of Terrorism.” Its creation is part of Bukele’s broader efforts to fight crime in El Salvador, which has a reputation of being one of the most dangerous countries on the planet.

Since Bukele was elected in 2019, one of his government’s main priorities has been to restore public order. Naturally, Bukele’s policies have been met with significant criticism.

“This new mega prison is a symbol of Bukele’s mad security policies,” declared Juan Pappier, the acting deputy director for the Americas at Human Rights Watch.

Bukele responded to this criticism by declaring in a tweet that he posted on March 7, 2023:

The United States Government is putting PROVEN INNOCENTS in jail and is, at the same time, concerned about us putting PROVEN CRIMINALS in jail

Indeed, there are still innocents rotting in prison for doing nothing criminal on the day of January 6, 2021. Unfortunately, America is an anarcho-tyrannical state where the rule of law has been totally inverted. Criminals get slaps on the wrist, while the law-abiding get punished.

The US has truly hit rock bottom when the leader of a Third World nation is now lecturing it out about its civil liberties abuses and its lack of focus in going after real criminals.

These are the Clown World times we live in.
