NEVER SEPARATED: Illegal Alien Child Featured On TIME Cover Did Not Leave Mother
Open borders activists have been using family separations at the border to propel their push for looser immigration laws. But in their push, they have been spotted on numerous occasions pushing blatant falsehoods, with a recent image that made its way to the cover of TIME Magazine being perhaps the most glaring.

The title of TIME’s magazine is “Welcome to America,” and it’s message is clear: the Trump Administrations policy of following the law cruel and immoral. While they clearly have their right to that opinion, it doesn’t help their case to include the photo of a child that wasn’t actually separated from her family at the border, but was instead detained with her mother who is still with her. Not only that, but the father of the child is happy that they were stopped at t he border and are safe in the custody of U.S. border authorities.
A rudimentary level of journalism could have uncovered this, something that TIME Magazine seems to not care about. Thankfully, Daily Mail did some digging, eventually talking to the pictured child’s father, Denis Javier Varela Hernandez, who lives in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. Hernandez spoke about how he hadn’t seen either his child or wife for three weeks until he saw the now famous photos.
Hernandez stated that both his wife, Sandra, and daughter Yanela Denise are safe. Hernandez was aware of his wife’s intention of moving to the United States, but was not supporting, stating “I didn’t support it. I asked her, why? Why would she want to put our little girl through that?”
He didn’t support it because it was dangerous, illegal, and she wasn’t seeking asylum. His wife was looking for a job.
Despite this fact, TIME Magazine does not appear to have made any effort to make note of the fact that the child they are headlining to gain sympathy against enforcing immigration laws wasn’t actually separated from her mother. But that doesn’t come as much of a surprise, the fact that TIME Magazine has talked about almost nothing else besides how evil the United States is for wanting to enforce immigration laws shows they have an agenda.
As conservative commentator Ann Coulter pointed out, using these children as political props is nothing more than a “political movement to transform our country into Mexico.” The ends seemingly justify the means when it comes to achieving that for the left.
