New Orleans Public School Rejects Free Lunch from Chick-Fil-A to Respect LGBTQ Staff

On Thursday, October 11, 2019, a New Orleans public charter school rejected a complimentary teachers’ lunch from Chick-Fil-A in an expression of solidarity with the LGBTQ community.
Steven Corbett, the principal of Lusher Charter School, declared in a statement that Chick-Fil-A’s values did not conform with the school’s “culture of kindness.”
“Out of respect to our LGBTQ staff, we have chosen to not serve Chick-Fil-A at an employee lunch. The #1 rule at Lusher is to ‘Be Kind,’ and we live this motto every day,” the principal said, according to a report from local CBS affiliate WWL. “Chick-Fil-A has been politically outspoken about its views, and we feel it is not part of Lusher’s culture of kindness and community.”
The College Football Playoff Foundation provided the meal, which said it will try to bring the teachers from another restaurant instead. Tony Fay, a PR representative of the organization, said that he respected the school’s decision, according to a WWL report.
Chick-Fil-A has been a target of PC mobs after a report released earlier this year disclosed that Chick-Fil-A Foundation donated $1.8 million in 2017 to Christian and social conservative groups with a supposed track record of anti-LGBTQ behavior.
The report resurfaced previous attacks against CEO Dan Cathy, who was bashed for his disapproval of gay marriage back in 2012.
Chick-fil-A is one of the primary targets of leftist thought policers who punish anyone who deviates from their standards. Political correctness culture is now so ingrained in America, that private institutions can be subject to leftist harassment if their spokespeople dare to speak out of line.
