North Carolina Police Academy Is Floating The Idea of Teaching 68 Terms for “Gender Identity”
According to revelations from a new program, North Carolina could be on the verge of instructing future police officers about 68 terms for “gender identity and expression” as a part of their police training curriculum.
The Carolina Journal reported that this proposed change to the state Justice Academy’s Basic Law Enforcement Training program comes from the North Carolina Department of Justice.
The state agency is currently modifying the law enforcement officer training program. The new curriculum is expected to be implemented in 2025.
The most controversial change of the training program is its “Course Management Guide” for instructors, which recommends the Healthline article “68 Terms That Describe Gender Identity and Expression” as an information source for lessons concerning hate crimes, per the document. The Carolina Journal first obtained the document.
“This hardly seems like a productive use of time for police trainees and their instructors,” Jon Guze, a senior fellow in legal studies at the John Locke Foundation, said to The Carolina Journal as a response to the story.
On top of that, Guze stated the guide suggests two culturally leftist organizations, the Human Rights Campaign and the Anti-Defamation League, as sources for tracking hate crimes and learning more about them.
“Neither of those sources can be regarded as objective. On the contrary, both have been credibly accused of being biased,” he proclaimed.
The new curriculum has yet to be fully ironed out. It will be an integral part of the expanded law enforcement training program. At the moment, North Carolina police training lasts 16 weeks, but, starting in 2025, it will grow to 21 weeks, per the report.
The Carolina Journal additionally reported the following:
With over 200 additional hours in the program and expansion to 39 topic areas, most of the lesson plans are increasing in required hours. This includes course orientation (+6), ethical problem solving (+12), communication and de-escalation (+16), compliance and control techniques (+24), driver training (+8), firearms (+48), and criminal investigations (+6).
This is just another instance of law enforcement potentially being degraded to wokism. Law enforcement should be focused on improving their ability to stop crime as opposed to embracing culturally leftist practices in its work environment and how it conducts business.
This will end up being a god-send for criminals, who know they will be confronting greatly weakened law enforcement agencies.
