NYC Mayor Eric Adams Promises to Reduce Funding to Immigrant Invaders During Backlash Against Pro-Migrant Policies

On February 21, 2024, New York City Mayor Eric Adams promised to slash funding to illegal alien invaders as he faces record levels of disapproval among New Yorker voters.

Back in November 2023, Adams presided over city-wide budget cuts where public services were scrapped to accommodate waves of illegal immigration to the Big Apple, which is the United States’ largest sanctuary city. The move came as less than 30% of New Yorkers indicated that they approve of Adams — a figure that is a record low disapproval rate for the mayor of the Big Apple.

On February 21, Adams stated that he is canceling the proposed budget cuts and will instead slash taxpayer funding that is currently being allocated towards newly arriving border crossers and illegal aliens. As for specifics, Adams announced that his office would slash an additional 10% in city-funded services for illegal aliens and stop plans to reduce spending on public services.

Despite these announcements indicating some degree of fiscal restraint on Adams’ part, the NYC mayor defended his office’s move to provide illegal aliens — largely on the public dole — with prepaid debit cards that could cost north of $53 million.

According to Adams, this prepaid debit card program for border crossers and illegal aliens could be expanded, if the program is considered to be “successful” by city leaders.

“I know on the first brush you look at it and say, ‘Wait a minute, what are you doing, you’re giving people cards?’” Adams declared. “This was a small policy shift that we’re doing on a pilot project with 500 people. If this is successful, we’re going to expand it even more.”

John Binder of Breitbart News reported that “Over the next three fiscal years, illegal immigration may cost New Yorkers $12 billion.”

Even the Democrats, who worship mass migration, understand that there are limits to the amount of migrants they can import. There are plenty of white-working class individuals and even non-whites who are skeptical of the continual importation of cheap labor and other individuals who will place a further strain on public services.

Nevertheless, one cannot expect a genuine change on immigration policy from the ruling class due to its mass migration fetish. At best, it will merely kick the can down the road on the immigration question.

It’s ultimately going to be the election of an America First Right that will set things straight on immigration.
