The state initially appeared surprisingly competitive for Biden, but as votes came in from rural areas that Trump won in 2016, it became clear that he was winning bellwether counties by even more than he did in the last election.
Results in OHIO: Trump winning working class rural Henry county by 69% of the vote with 78% in. He won this county by 66% in 2016. Trump generally doing better in these rural, working class counties in Ohio, which is an early predictor as to rural counties in MI, PA, WI, etc.

His healthy performance with the Trump base in Ohio may be a good sign for the President’s prospects in neighboring midwestern states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
