President Trump has won the Republican-leaning swing state of Ohio, securing a large Rust Belt state that serves as an electoral reservoir for the President.

Decision Desk HQ called Ohio for Donald Trump at 11:20, with the president appearing to secure a final victory by margins similar to his 2016 performance.

The state initially appeared surprisingly competitive for Biden, but as votes came in from rural areas that Trump won in 2016, it became clear that he was winning bellwether counties by even more than he did in the last election.

His healthy performance with the Trump base in Ohio may be a good sign for the President’s prospects in neighboring midwestern states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
