Only 28% Of Americans Have ‘Great Deal’ Of Confidence In Public Schools, Report Shows

Americans are losing confidence in the public school system. They are seeing woke politics drive wedges between education for children and politics. With progressive themes such as critical race theory (CRT) and pride events taking over the curriculum.

According to a new poll from Gallup, only 28% of Americans have a “great deal/quite a lot” of confidence in U.S. public schools in 2022.

“Americans’ confidence in U.S. public schools remains low, with 28% saying they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the institution, similar to 32% last year,” Gallup reported.

“Both figures are down from 41% in 2020, reflecting a brief surge in the early months of the pandemic after registering 29% in 2019,” the outlet continued.

Interestingly, the poll even highlighted the stark contrast between Republican confidence in public schools to that of Democrats. With 14% and 43% having a “great deal/quite a lot” of confidence in public schools respectively.

A whopping 50% of Republicans said that they have “very little/no” confidence in public schools. While only 16% of Democrats shared the same answer.

“While all political party groups expressed more confidence than usual in public schools in 2020, Republicans’ confidence has since plunged, while independents’ has dipped and Democrats’ has remained near their pandemic high,” Gallup said.

In other words, Democrats were largely in favor of public school mask mandates and endless lockdown procedures such as distance learning. This is arguably why many of these left-wing add-ons to the typical school day are making a comeback in many progressive strongholds like California and Washington DC.

“The extent of Republicans’ displeasure with education today is further evident in the sharp increase in those expressing very little or no confidence in public schools,” Gallup reported. “Half of Republicans are now this critical, up 19 points from 31% in 2019.”

Bottom line, as the Gallup report would state, “Americans’ confidence in public schools increased early in the coronavirus pandemic as people rallied around professions that were severely disrupted by the economic shutdown.”

That confidence, however, subsided one year ago with American faith in the nation’s public school system returing to its pre-pandemic level.

Public education has overwhelmingly become more politicized, which is why this confidence amongst Americans appears to be split right down the middle of party lines.

All in all, school children are being used as political pawns by teacher unions and state legislators to push forth radical left-wing agendas. Not to mention they are being used as experimental echo chambers for CRT and gender theory that would have both been deemed “inappropriate” just a couple of years ago.

Americans are paying attention, and are looking for a way out of the public school system.
