OPEN BORDERS: Bernie Sanders Wants to Stop Deporting Illegal Aliens
Bernie Sanders supports a moratorium on the deportation of illegal immigrants.
While talking before a leftist Latino audience, the 2020 presidential candidate vowed to end immigration raids and put a pause on all deportations.
“We are going to end the ICE raids that are terrorizing communities all across this country,” Sanders said Saturday in Las Vegas. “We are going to impose a moratorium on deportations. And we are going to, as I mentioned — and there are some things that a president can do with executive orders and some things you can’t.”
Sanders gave his talk at an event organized by Mijente, a lefist Latino group which tackles immigration issues in America. Mijente is a self-described movement for Latinos and is also a “pro-Black, pro-woman, pro-queer, pro-poor” group that promotes anti-ICE activism.
During other parts of his talk, the Vermont senator declared he would also provide illegal aliens with government-funded health care and free college education
Sanders doubled down on his position in favor of a moratorium on deportations the next day on Twitter.
“We must treat undocumented people with dignity. When we are in the White House, we will end the ICE raids which are terrorizing communities all across this country and impose a moratorium on deportations,” he tweeted on Sunday.
A senior policy adviser for his campaign told CNN that Sanders’ position on deportations is a new position taken by the Vermont Senator. His new immigration position represents the growing radicalization of the Left on immigration.
In Western countries, it seems like all parties on the Left are religiously embracing mass migration of some sort. And much to their constituents’ peril. Numerous countries in Europe which are already having to deal with the negative consequences of unprecedented waves of mass migration.
BLP reported how Democrats have an electoral incentive to continue pushing for mass migration due to immigrant voting patterns which favor Democrats at the voting booth.
Sanders’ new views on the issue will likely push other candidates to go further Left in order to pander to their new constituencies.
