Paris Police Beat Woman for Shopping Without a Vaccine Passport

A recent video posted from Paris, France should a group of police officers brutally beating a woman in a shopping mall, reportedly because she did not bring a ‘vaccine passport’ that the state now forces citizens to carry for various daily functions.

Seven or more police officers are seen in the video rushing to attack a woman before pushing another lady off that appeared to be intervening in an effort to protect her.

Following the activity of the video above, large groups of protestors later gathered outside the mall and later stormed without any kind of vaccine pass.

Chants of “Liberte,” French for ‘Freedom’ were heard throughout the mall.

French police were at one point even seen leaving the mall, likely because they concluded the crowd was so large it was not worth dealing with numerous arrests.

France’s rollout of a vaccine passport has proved to be highly controversial, with many French arguing that it is a violation of their civil liberties to be forbidden from participating in polite society as punishment for not receiving an experimental vaccine. Current rules enacted by the state forbid those who refuse to present a vaccine passport from eating in public, exercising, going to museums, traveling long distances, etc.

Some prominent French politicians have come out against the measure, including Julien Odoul, a young rising star of France’s Rassemblement National, who argued that the new policy creates a segregated society.

“The constitutional council has approved a two-tier society where there are two categories of citizens who don’t have the same rights, depending on their vaccine status. This is Macron’s society and one that we condemn and reject. The principles of liberty and egality are sacred.”

Hard-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon, a presidential candidate, agreed, describing the health pass as “absurd, unfair and authoritarian”.

Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron continues to double down on the draconian policy, calling on the people of France to “accept these collective rules … and get vaccinated”.

“It’s about citizenship. Freedom only exists if the freedom of everyone is protected… it’s worth nothing if by exercising our freedom we contaminate our brother, neighbour, friend, parents, or someone we have come across at an event. Then freedom becomes irresponsibility.”
