Parkland Victim’s Father Misleads About Kavanaugh Interaction, Fake News Media Runs With It

The media is working overtime to paint Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a callous monster after his brief interaction with the father of a victim of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High Schoo at Tuesday’s confirmation hearing.
“Just walked up to Judge Kavanaugh as morning session ended. Put out my hand to introduce myself as Jaime Guttenberg’s dad. He pulled his hand back, turned his back to me and walked away. I guess he did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence,” said Fred Guttenberg on Twitter.

That narrative is a flat-out lie. Security pulled Kavanaugh away as a strange man approached him as the confirmation hearing was taking a recess. Watch the interaction. The security guard clearly jumps in between the two:

The fake news outrage is more ridiculous than usual, but desperate times call for desperate measures. On the brink of losing another SCOTUS seat, liberals need all the help they can get in their campaign to #StopKavanaugh, and as usual, their friends in the mainstream press are more than willing to lend a hand.
First, why would soon-to-be Justice Kavanaugh have any idea who Jaime Guttenburg is? Secondly, Kavanaugh was finishing answering questions from U.S. Senate members when he was ambushed by a man he did not know. Why does Guttenberg think that he has the right to steal the show and speak with Kavanaugh in such a setting? Did he think that that was an appropriate time or place to debate Kavanaugh on the Second Amendment? Finally, there are surely security protocols in place that are meant to stop strangers from walking up to SCOTUS nominees, which is exactly what Guttenberg did.
The whole premise is ridiculous.
In fact Guttenburg said on Monday, he was attending explicitly to sabotage the confirmation hearing.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah set the record straight.
“As Judge Kavanaugh left for his lunch break, an unidentified individual approached him. Before the Judge was able to shake his hand, security had intervened,” he said on Twitter.

But that did not stop the mainstream press from coming down hard on Kavanaugh.
“Brett Kavanaugh snubs Parkland victim’s father at Senate confirmation hearing,” said a Mashable headline.
“The father of a Parkland shooting victim tried to shake Brett Kavanaugh’s hand. He failed,” said Vox.
“Parkland Dad Escorted Out of Hearing After Trying to Shake Kavanaugh’s Hand,” said Mother Jones.
The leftist mainstream press is the face of derangement in America. In the midst of what is likely one of the most important days of Kavanaugh’s life, they are hammering him over a two second interaction with someone whom he had never met, and had no reason to know.
What an absurd spectacle.
