Pelosi Applauds “Righteous Anger” Of Abortion Activists In Letter To Democrats

In a letter sent on Monday to fellow House Democrats, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) applauded the “righteous anger” of abortion rights activists.

“With this draft ruling striking down the nearly fifty-year-old precedent of Roe v. Wade and undermining the Constitutional right to privacy, Republicans would rip away women’s right to make the most intimate and personal decisions,” she said.

“If handed down, this decision by GOP-appointed Justices would mean that, for the first time in our history, America’s daughters will have less freedom than their mothers,” Pelosi continued.

She also encouraged activists to carry on the fight against the pro-life movement.

On Wednesday, Pelosi reminded Americans that the Senate would be putting the legislation up for a vote.

“I have been working with my colleagues to make sure that we are prepared in the event that this terrible ruling comes down from the Court,” she said in a statement. “The House will take up legislation to ensure that women’s rights are protected.”

Pelosi also was sure to thank House Democrats for their commitment to abortion.

The speaker concluded her message by saying, “we must never give up or go back.” The now coined phrase that has been parroted by various pro-choice organizations and left-wing activists who oppose the potential strike down of Roe V. Wade wholeheartedly.

Notably, these comments came just one day after the politically-motivated attack on a pro-life organization in Wisconsin in which extremists firebombed the headquarters with Molotov cocktails.

It’s also worth mentioning that extremist rhetoric towards those in support of the possible overturn of Roe V. Wade is only increasing – with zero signs of slowing down.

For example, activists are currently protesting outside the homes of the Supreme Court Justices who are in favor of this reversal. With the White House refusing to de-escalate any “alternative means of protest.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki even dared to label many of these protests as “mostly peaceful.”

Pelosi’s letter is a direct result of the pressure being put on Democrats by the more progressive side of their base as the 2022 midterms rapidly approach.

The question now becomes, how much is too much? How will these comments – and ones like it – influence those who are undecided on the issue of abortion?

As many conservative outlets have speculated, all of these irrational responses and unprecedented comments are only turning off voters more.

Time will tell if these out-of-control and often violent protests, as well as the language being used by politicians and activists, are having any effect on those who are currently in support of overturning Roe V. Wade.
