Philadelphia Children’s Hospital Deals with Epidemic of Mental Illness, Non-COVID Respiratory Illnesses Due to Lockdown Policies

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is running out of beds, but not due to COVID-19 infections. Children are suffering from mental illness at epidemic rates and suffering from respiratory infections due to lockdown policies initiated by corrupt and incompetent government bureaucrats.
After being forced to stay indoors needlessly for many months, the immune systems of children have predictably waned. The insulation has also caused children to develop severe mental trauma, being subjected to non-stop terror propaganda from the media and bought off public health officials, that they will probably never be able to recover from.
“What we are seeing is definitely unprecedented,” said Ron Keren, CHOP’s chief medical officer. “We didn’t expect how bad it was going to be.”
The 585-bed facility is reportedly overflowing because of collateral damage caused by the criminal malpractice in the societal overreaction and mass hysteria over the COVID-19 pandemic.
There has been a startling surge in cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) among children, resulting in emergency treatment with a monoclonal antibody called palivizumab in order to prevent serious infections and deaths in kids.
“There’s this concept of an ‘immunity debt,’” Keren said. “Kids haven’t been exposed to these viruses for going on two years, so they are vulnerable. It makes it easier for the virus to spread quicker.”
“The flu is much worse than COVID-19 for kids. I’m concerned about what we are going to see in the next few months with flu. It could be nastier than RSV,” he added.
Children are also being treated for extreme anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts, with autistic and special-needs children suffering the worst of all.
“CHOP is not an inpatient psychiatric facility,” Keren said. “We can manage children and keep them safe, but we don’t have the infrastructure and are not licensed to treat them. But there is just not enough [treatment facility] capacity in the community, so they often end up staying in the hospital longer than we and the families would like.”

“A study has found that children born during the COVID pandemic have “significantly reduced verbal, motor, and overall cognitive performance compared to children born pre-pandemic.”
Titled “Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Early Child Cognitive Development: Initial Findings in a Longitudinal Observational Study of Child Health,” the study was conducted by researchers affiliated with Brown University, an Ivy League institution located in Providence, Rhode Island. They examined the cognitive scores of children in 2020 and 2021 and compared them to those of 2011-2019.
The study, still pending peer review, collected data on 672 children in Rhode Island, all of whom are “healthy, full-term, and neurotypically-developing children” between three months and three years of age. The dataset included 154 cognitive assessments from 118 children between March 2020 and June 2021.
“Results highlight that even in the absence of direct SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 illness, the environmental changes associated [with the] COVID-19 pandemic [are] significantly and negatively affecting infant and child development,” the researchers wrote.
It thus appears—and is consonant with common sense—that limited opportunities to play and interact with other children has reduced stimulation and educational opportunity, both of which are critical to proper neurodevelopment. The research found that males and children born in lower socioeconomic environments have been most negatively affected.”
The official government and media response to COVID-19 is perhaps the greatest crime in human history. If its culprits are not brought to justice in something akin to Nuremberg Trials, humanity will live with a boot over its neck forever.
