Planned Parenthood SCRUBS Website Of Distinction Between Treatment For Ectopic Pregnancies And Abortion

The Planned Parenthood website has been edited to remove the explainer for how ectopic pregnancy treatment is not abortion.

The distinction between the two terms has been scrubbed entirely by the abortion provider. So what once stated that “treating an ectopic pregnancy isn’t the same thing as getting an abortion.”

Now reads: “the medical procedures for terminating a pregnancy in the uterus are usually different from the medical procedures for terminating an ectopic pregnancy.”

Notice the difference? 

Planned Parenthood had explained in the past that “abortion is a medical procedure that when done safely, ends a pregnancy that’s in your uterus.”

Then it informed its readers that “ectopic pregnancies are unsafely outside of your uterus (usually in the fallopian tubes), and are removed with a medicine called methotrexate or through a laparoscopic surgical procedure.”

“The medical procedures for abortions are not the same as the medical procedures for an ectopic pregnancy,” the site had added.

This information scrub was likely made because ectopic pregnancy removals have been the pro-abortionist go-to talking point when arguing that the lack of abortion access (thanks to the reversal of Roe V. Wade) is potentially deadly.

Some abortion rights supporters claim that bans on abortion could be interpreted to outlaw necessary medical treatment for ectopic pregnancies. Thus threatening the life of the mother – a key argument against the SCOTUS ruling that logically infuriates the less-informed on the subject.

Consider Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s comments, for example, who wrote, “[Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh] decided half the country should risk death if they have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines.”

Other Democratic officials have referenced ectopic pregnancies in their arguments against abortion bans. And still continue to do so despite the clear distinction difference.

Planned Parenthood’s old website clearly highlighted the differences between these procedures. So to add to the confusion surrounding the soundbite of “less abortion access means more death for women”, the website decided to blur the definitions entirely.

As the anti-abortion website, Live Action News, would explain; this is not the first time that Planned Parenthood has made serious changes to its website.

“Planned Parenthood’s so-called ‘Maggie Award,’ named ‘after Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger,’ quietly transitioned into the Planned Parenthood ‘Media Award.’ Sanger was a known eugenicist who selected population control enthusiasts, fellow eugenicists, and white supremacists for her board; she was celebrated by Planned Parenthood for decades,” Live Action reported.
