POLL: 59% of Arkansas Voters Demand Paper Ballots

According to a recent poll conducted by Rasmussen and the Arkansas Voter Integrity Initiative, 59% of likely voters in Arkansas support reforms that would have paper ballots being used in state elections.

This figure includes 37% who strongly support the paper ballots proposal. 31% are against allowing only paper ballots, which includes 17% who are strongly opposed. An additional 10% are unsure. 65% of Arkansas voters are worried that there will be cheating in the 2024 elections dealing with electronic voting machines, which includes 44% who are very concerned.

32% are not worried about electronic voting machines being used in election cheating, which includes 16% who are not concerned at all.

73% of Arkansas voters agree that every election should be audited by hand-counting votes prior to declaring who is the winner, which includes  50% who strongly agree. 22% disagree, which includes 12% who strongly disagree.

58% of voters support amending the Arkansas state constitution to mandate the main method of voting be carried out using hand-marked paper ballots, which includes 35% who strongly support such an amendment. 33% are against amending the state constitution to mandate paper ballots, which includes 20% who are strongly opposed.

When it comes to political affiliations, 67% of Republican voters, 53% of Democrat voters, and 56% of independent voters  believe it’s likely that using hand-counted paper ballots in Arkansas would make voting safer and more transparent.

The Rasmussen poll found other important sentiments among Arkansas voters:

Just 37% of Arkansas voters are in favor of Joe Biden’s performance as president, whereas 54% strongly disapprove of Biden’s performance as the commander in chief.

58% are in favor of the job Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is doing, while only 24% strongly disapprove of Sanders’ performance as governor.

74% of Republican voters in Arkansas would choose former President Donald Trump in Arkansas’ Republican primary.

If the 2024 presidential election ends up being between Biden and Trump, 62% of Arkansas voters would pull the lever for Trump and 35% would pull the lever for Biden.

44% of voters indicated that hand-marked paper ballots in Arkansas would make them trust elections even more. Only 17% said paper ballots would make them trust elections less, whereas 34% said it would not have much of a difference.

61% of voters agree that hand-marked ballots are more secure than touchscreen voting machines, which includes 37% who strongly agree. 29% disagree, which includes 14% who strongly disagree. An additional 11% are unsure.

Arkansas voters have the right instincts here. The current way American elections are run is just asking for all forms of election irregularities to occur.

Hopefully, Republican leadership listens to the will of the voters and implements measures to uphold election integrity. These reforms are desperately needed in these times of mass uncertainty.
