POLL: 75% of American Voters Believe US Leadership is Worsening
In a recently published Rasmussen poll, 75% of likely United States voters believe that the total quality of the United States’ leaders has worsened in their lifetime. 5% of voters believe political leaders have improved during their lifetime. By contrast, only 15% stated that the quality of American political leadership has stayed roughly the same.
41% of voters believe President Joe Biden most represents the Democratic Party’s values, whereas 10% indicated that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries most represents the Democratic Party’s values and 9% believe Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer most represents Democratic values. That said, 31% indicated that neither Biden, Jeffries nor Schumer are representative of the Democratic Party’s values.
44% of voters believe former President Donald Trump most represents the values of the Republican Party, whereas 13% view the Republican Party’s values most represented by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and 11% believe House Speaker Mike Johnson most represents GOP values. 27% indicated that neither Trump, McConnell nor Schumer strongly embody the party’s values.
81% of Republican voters, 67% of Democrat voters, and 77% of independent voters signaled that, in their lifetime, America’s overall leadership quality has declined.
42% of white voters, 47% of black voters, and 38% of non-black minority voters believe Joe Biden most represents Democratic Party values. 45% of white voters, 31% of black voters, and 42% of non-black minority voters view Trump as most representative of Republican values.
Voters in the US have every reason to be skeptical of the quality of leadership in the country. It has clearly deteriorated over the past century. As the US government has grown at astronomical rates and has been captured by special interest groups, politicians have turned into veritable puppets that don’t represent American interests. Instead bureaucrats and powerful interest groups run the show irrespective of who is in office. Only a visionary movement with bold leaders can reverse this nasty trend and bring back real leadership to American politics.
