POLL: 78% of West Virginia Voters Endorse the Passage of E-Verify

A bill pending in the West Virginia legislature to help control illegal immigration by requiring employers to use the E-Verify system has overwhelming support from the state’s voters.

In a recent poll conducted by Rasmussen and NumbersUSA, 78% of likely West Virginia voters believe the state government should compel all employers to use the federal electronic E-Verify system to make sure they hire only legal workers for American jobs.

12% of West Virginia voters are against mandating E-Verify, whereas an additional 10% are unsure. Earlier in January, the West Virginia House of Representatives approved HB 4759, which would mandate businesses with 15 or more employees to implement E-Verify.

The poll discovered that 82% of Republican voters, 70% of Democrat voters, and 80% of independent voters support an E-Verify system mandate that employers must follow.

E-Verify enjoys widespread popularity across the nation, with 69% of American voters backing it in the most recent Rasmussen Immigration Index poll.

81% of male voters, 74% of women voters, 78% of white voters, 73% of black voters, 70% of Hispanic voters, and 89% of non-black minority voters are in favor of the state mandating employers using the federal electronic E-Verify system to guarantee that they hire lawful workers for American jobs.

Similarly, 70% of West Virginia voters agree that if the measure mandating employers use E-Verify turns into law, any business which refuses to abide by the law should be stripped of its business license to operate in West Virginia, which includes 46% who strongly agree. Only 22% are in disagreement.

80% of West Virginia voters believe that hiring illegal alien workers is harmful toward lawful workers by how it reduces pay, worsens working conditions, and reduces jobs available to West Virginians, which includes 64% who strongly agree with this sentiment. Only 16% are in disagreement.

West Virginia is one of the states most negatively impacted by the ruling class’ globalist policies of mass migration and negotiated trade deals. West Virginia is truly the state of America’s forgotten men.

For that reason, West Virginian voters are going to be among the most fervent opponents of the managerial class’s mass migration policies.
