POLL: Americans’ Trust in Corporate Media is Quickly Evaporating Americans’ Trust In News Media Falls To New Lows
According to a recently published Gallup poll, only 34% of Americans indicated that they have “great deal” or “fair amount” of confidence in the corporate media. By contrast, 38% indicated that they have zero trust in the corporate media.
When it comes to political affiliations, 70% of Democrat voters, 14% of Republican voters and 27% of independent voters revealed that they have considerable or respectable confidence in the corporate press.
Christina Maas of Reclaim the Net noted that in the case of Republicans
“this year (2023) “recorded the third year straight where a majority expressed having zero trust in the media.”
Mass continued by noting the following observation about independent voters: “A notable admission was recorded amongst independents – only 27% exhibited confidence, the lowest ever recorded, and the first time the figure has plunged beneath 30%. “
With respect to age and political orientation, older Democrats and independents were more likely to trust the corporate press than their younger cohorts.
With respect to independent voters, those who did not receive a college degree were more likely to distrust the corporate media.
Like many other institutions that have degraded over time in the United States, the corporate media has thoroughly tarnished its reputation through its sensationalist and sloppy coverage of current events. Moreover, the media has become a mouthpiece of the DC regime and has willingly shilled for never-ending wars and other endeavors that bleed America’s resources and national character dry.
Thankfully, alternative media has emerged to fill the information void and provide an alternative to a corrupt media industrial complex. We need more of this if we want to live in a socio-political order that’s marked by stability and truth-telling.
