POLL: GOP Voters Favor Deploying US Troops at Border

Sending United States Armed Forces to the United States’ southern border to fight drug trafficking and slashing illegal immigration is the most popular policy position that GOP presidential primary candidates can take, per a finding from an NBC News poll.
Specifically, 55% of general election voters indicated that they would be more likely to back a candidate for president who vowed to send troops to the border to halt drug trafficking. Less than 30% indicated that they would be less keen on supporting a candidate who held this position.Â
In a similar vein, 46% of general election voters indicated that they would be more likely to back a candidate that promised to send troops to the border to help slash illegal immigration. 40% stated that they would be less likely to throw their support behind such a candidate.Â
John Binder of Breitbart News noted that American voters are also in favor of candidates that promote mandatory E-Verify programs to shield American workers from competition from illegal aliens.Â
According to a Rasmussen poll, 70% of likely voters indicated that they support a national mandatory E-Verify program. 61% stated that they prefer that American businesses hire unemployed Americans instead of importing foreign workers. Â
Overall, the American populace wants control at our border for both economic and security reasons. For the wishes of the voter to be upheld, America must have a nationalist faction in power at the federal government. This is the only political faction that’s actually serious about cracking down on mass migration.Â
