POLL: Many Voters View Intelligence Agencies With Skepticism

According to a Rasmussen poll, 52% of likely American voters believe it’s likely that United States intelligence agencies are looking to shape the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, which includes 31% who believe such a scenario is very likely. 38% don’t believe intelligence agencies are attempting to control the election, which includes 20% who stated it’s not at all likely. An additional 20% are unsure.

49% of voters believe US intelligence agencies have their own political agenda, whereas 36% believe the agencies generally perform impartially. Another 16% are not sure.

64% of voters believe it’s likely that US intelligence agencies are influencing corporate media coverage of political issues, which includes 33% who believe it is very likely. 27% don’t believe intelligence agencies have much of an impact on media coverage, which includes 10% who stated it’s not at all ;likely. An additional 10% are unsure.

48% of voters view the CIA favorably, which includes 12% with a very favorable impression of America’s leading spy agency. 39% view the CIA unfavorably, which includes 20% with a very unfavorable opinion. An additional 13% are unsure.

62% of Democrat voters view the CIA at least somewhat favorably, an opinion that is shared by only 38% of Republican voters and 42% of independent voters.

62% of Republican voters, 33% of Democrats voters, and 53% of independent voters believe US intelligence agencies have their own political agenda. 79% of Republican voters, 52% of Democrat voters, and 61% of independent voters believe it’s at least somewhat likely that American intelligence agencies are shaping news media coverage of political issues.

48% of white voters, 43% of black voters, and 55% of non-black minorities believe American intelligence agencies have their own political agenda. 

As for race, 48% of white voters, 43% of black voters, and 55% of non-black  minorities believe Americns intelligence agencies have their own political agenda. 

When it comes to income earners, 57% of voters making over $200,000 annually hold a favorable view of the CIA. Among individuals making annual incomes below $50,000, 41% have a favorable view of the CIA.

Americans have every reason to stand against intelligence agencies. These institutions operate in a surreptitious manner and often work against the interests of Middle Americans. These organizations must be abolished if the US is to remain a free nation where its citizens are not subject to arbitrary forms of bureaucratic tyranny.
