According to a Rasmussen poll, 2/3 of American voters believe their elected officials are influenced by China, but are unsure which party is under the thrall of the Communist Party of China.
The Rasmussen poll found that 37% of likely United States voters believe China holds a lot of influence over American politicians and an additional 29% believe China holds some influence. Only 24% believe China does not hold much influence or any influence at all over American politicians.
56% of Republican voters, 21% of Democrat voters, and 37% of independent voters believe China holds significant influence over American politicians.
38% of likely voters believe Democrats are more influenced by China and 26% indicated Republicans are more influenced by China. 28% believe both parties are subject to the same amount of influence from China.
57% of Republican voters are of the view that the Democrats are more influenced by China, whereas 23% of Democrat voters and 34% of independent voters share similar views. 37% of Democrat voters, 18% of Republican voters and 21% of independent voters think Republicans are more influenced by China.
66% of white voters, 60% of black voters, and 72% of other non-black minorities believe China holds some influence over American politicians.
With respect to voters who believe China holds substantial influence over American politicians, 70% believe Democrats are subject to more influence by China.
As far as income earners are concerned, voters making between $30,000 and $50,000 annually are most likely to believe that China holds significant influence over American politicians.
46% of entrepreneurs and 43% of retirees are more likely than government workers (38%) or private sector workers (30%) to believe that China has considerable influence over US elected officials.
China clearly has influence over the US. However, this is the product of the US’s lax migratory and trade policies that allow China to buy off politicians and sleazy businessmen, while inserting scores of spies and other subversive agents in America’s military, educational, and commercial institutions.
To eliminate this noxious influence, the US must decouple trade with China and fully restrict immigration from there as well.
