POLL: The Majority of Democrats Support Slavery Reparations
According to a new Rasmussen poll, the majority of Democrats support the idea of paying reparations to the descendants of slaves.
After California Governor Gavin Newsom rolled out a plan to dole out reparations to the descendants of African slaves, the idea has now become an acceptable policy plank of Democratic politics. Newsom’s plan consisted of appointing California Reparations Task Force that would preside over a potential program that would potentially pay $233,000 to each descendant of a slave in California.
Per Rasmussen’s findings, 38% of likely US voters back slavery reparations, which includes 19% who “strongly support” the concept. 54% are against slavery reparations, which includes 42% who “strongly oppose” the concept.
60% of Democrats are in favor of reparations. By contrast, 18% of Republicans and 35% of independent voters support this measure.
36% of voters nationally back California’s plan, which includes 18% who “strongly” support it. 56% are against California’s reparation plan, which includes 45% who “strongly” oppose it.
59% of Democrats, 15% of Republicans, and 30% of independent voters back California’s reparations plan. However, when voters are made aware of the cost of California’s plan, which is estimated to be around $569 billion, opposition to reparations grows, even among voters who identify as Democrats.
29% of voters back a plan similar to the one California in their state, which includes 14% who would “strongly” support such a plan in their respective state. 63% would be against enacting a reparations plan like California’s in their respective state, which includes 50% who would “strongly” oppose it.
82% of Republicans, 45% of Democrats and 65% of independent voters would be against their state enacting a California-style slavery reparations program. 48% of Democrats, 13% of Republicans, and 27% of independent voters would support such a plan in their state.
31% of whites, 66% of black voters, and 44% of non-white minorities are in favor of taxpayer-funded reparation payments to the descendants of American slaves. 61% of whites, 25% of black voters, and 47% of other non-white minorities oppose a taxpayer-funded slavery reparation program.
With regards to California’s $569 billion reparations plan, 24% of whites, 56% of black voters, and 35% of other non-white minorities would support such a plan in their state. 71% of whites, 30% of black voters, and 60% of other non-white minorities would be against their state implementing a California-style slavery reparations plan.
51% of voters with annual incomes north of $200,000 are in favor of taxpayer-funded reparations. By contrast, 61% of individuals making between $30,000 and $50,000 annually are against a reparations program.
Democrats voters, who are thoroughly consumed by anti-white sentiments, are an obvious pro-reparations constituency. Blacks are a reliable Democratic constituency and party elites will do everything possible to placate them at productive Americans’ expense.
Reparations is just another theater in the war on whites that the US’s post-national elites have launched. If we want to preserve the Historic American Nation, we must stand strongly against reparations programs and any other programs designed to explicitly hurt white Americans.
