When it comes to income earners, voters making between
$50,000 and $100,000 annually are most likely to trust Democrats more on taxes, whereas Republicans have the strongest support among individuals making between $30,000 and $50,000 and those making over $200,000 annually.
Indeed, Republicans are better than Democrats, in a marginal sense, on the issue of taxation.
However, the GOP can’t be fully trusted on this issue, among others dealing with the reduction in the size of government. For that reason, voters should still remain skeptical of Republican candidates talking a big game about small government and only vote for ones who have a proven track record of supporting policies that actually reduce the size of the state.
Bad political behavior should never be rewarded.
