President Trump Moved to Walter Reed Hospital for Three Days as Precautionary Measure to Overcome COVID-19

President Donald Trump has been transported to Walter Reed Medical Center following his COVID-19 diagnosis. He is expected to stay there for three days and work from the executive suite.

Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that Trump “remains in good spirts, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day. Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days. President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady.”

Sean Conley, who serves as the president’s physician, noted that Trump received an experimental medication from Regeneron, which has two antibodies that protect against the coronavirus. The antibody cocktail, called REGN-COV2, was reportedly injected into Trump in order to treat COVID-19. Trump is also taking zinc, vitamin D and melatonin as well as Pepcid and an aspirin to overcome the virus.

Big League Politics reported on Trump’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis on Thursday:

President Donald Trump confirmed that he and the First Lady have been diagnosed with coronavirus in a Thursday night tweet, throwing the presidential election election into a de facto halt as the couple begins to quarantine at home…

Melania Trump confirmed news of the diagnosis in a tweet as well…

This is an unprecedented event to occur in the weeks leading up to a presidential election. President Trump likely will not appear at public events for a period of at least ten days, and it’s not hyperbole to suggest that the virus is a serious danger to an individual of his age. All Americans should pray for the health and safety of the President.

However, the President is a a generally healthy individual, and there’s reason to believe he will make a full recovery from the coronavirus disease. Individuals of his age have a high likelihood of survival.

Joe Biden should immediately suspend all pending campaign and election events during the duration of President Trump’s quarantine. Any debates suspended during President Trump’s quarantine should be conducted at a later date.
