Project Veritas Loses More Than 200,000 Twitter Followers After Ousting Founder James O’Keefe

After ousting Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe, the organization’s Twitter account has amassed a whooping 20% drop in followers.

From Newsweek:

The Twitter account of Project Veritas has lost more than 200,000 followers in the past day, coinciding with the rancorous departure of the right-wing organization’s founder and CEO.

As of 3:20 a.m. ET, the account had lost more than 214,000 followers — nearly 192,000 on February 20 alone — according to figures from Social Blade, an analytics firm. A real-time counter showed that, at the same time, the number of followers was still falling.

Here are the statistics via Social Blade.

All this comes after Project Veritas under its new leadership assured the public that losing O’Keefe would not serve as a hindrance for the company’s influence.

However, while Project Veritas continues its downward spiral of lost Twitter followers, O’Keefe’s personal account keeps growing.

In case you missed it, O’Keefe was forced out as CEO of Project Veritas following an investigation into his alleged improprieties from the organization’s board of directors.

O’Keefe made the announcement to Project Veritas staffers. And his message was videoed and has since been released to the public.

“Over the last few weeks, I have felt a lot of despair and seen a lot of evil and felt overcome with various emotions… You can say I’ve seen glimpses of heaven and hell,” he said.

“The statement I made before was Veritas will never be defeated from the outside, it will only be defeated from the inside. That’s actually not true. No, the only way to defeat is if they take our spirit, and from the looks of things, many of us remain completely undefeated and unbroken,” O’Keefe added, vowing that he will never be done.

This sight of betrayal has led many to ditch Project Veritas under its new leadership in support of O’Keefe. Whom many believe was sabotaged.

Prominent voices on the right like Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie have since come to the defense of O’Keefe on Twitter.

Project Veritas losing support seemingly overnight is a stark sign that the trending hashtag #JamesOKeefeISProjectVeritas was right.
