Prominent Gun Control Organization Praised Biden Regime’s Executive Gun Grabs

Civilian disarmament organization Giffords is praising executive gun control measures that are expected to come from the Biden regime soon.

Per a Breitbart News report that was published  on August 1, 2023, Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal called on the Biden regime to use the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act as a vehicle to implement gun control measures through executive action. By taking advantage of the Act, the Biden regime is expected to take action to broaden background checks.

According to a report from the New York Times, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act featured a provision that enables the expansion of background checks through a reclassification of what defines a firearms dealer. This provision would change the definition of firearms dealer that would include not only individuals who make a living selling firearms, but “anyone who earns a profit from selling firearms” as well.

Democrats have pursued the passage of universal background checks for decades and Giffords praised the Biden regime’s commitment to this move:

“Every gun sale should require a background check. Thanks to @POTUS, we’re almost there. For years, we’ve pushed for the government to require more gun sellers to become licensed dealers and conduct background checks. ATF is expected to act any day now.”

Gun Owners of America has already promised to take legal action against the pending executive gun control measures, but the organization also wants to see Congress take action:

While Gun Owners of America fights for the Second Amendment in the courts, Congress must repeal the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act—which was a compromise with the Biden Administration that Republicans NEVER should have struck. It has been completely weaponized, gun owners have gained nothing, and America is no safer. Cornyn-Murphy has got to go, and Republicans must expiate for this sin.

Congress must also participate in the rulemaking process and voice its opposition to backdoor universal background registration checks during the public notice and comment period alongside GOA members. After commenting during the proposed rule phase, Congress must also take up a joint resolution of disapproval pursuant to the Congressional Review Act and strike down this unconstitutional infringement.

The expansion of background checks are not only unconstitutional but they also beget the creation of a gun registry as these measures are unenforceable without such a system. Such measures should be thoroughly opposed by pro-gun forces. Once gun control becomes acceptable, larger measures can then be implemented further down the line.
