Rand Paul is Calling for Accountability on Ukraine Aid
On November 28, 2022, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul called for greater oversight with regards to aid to Ukraine after the Biden regime had trouble accounting for roughly $20 billion in aid.
He was particularly incensed that both political parties ignored his request for an inspector general to overlook the aid.
Per a report by Fox News, which Paul linked to in a tweet, the Biden regime only inspected 10% of 22,000 weapons the United States has supplied to Ukraine between February and November.
Didn’t someone try to legislatively mandate a special inspector general to scrutinize Ukrainian spending? Oh, that’s right, it was my amendment and most Democrats AND Republicans opposed any semblance of oversight. https://t.co/dYTSpbLi2O

“Didn’t someone try to legislatively mandate a special inspector general to scrutinize Ukrainian spending?” Paul asked in a tweet. He continued, “Oh, that’s right, it was my amendment and most Democrats AND Republicans opposed any semblance of oversight.”
From January 24 until October 3, the US government has provided over $27 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
This military aid number is by far the largest of any nation of the Collective West that has provided military assistance to Ukraine.
Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations on the planet. So any deluge of economic and military aid will likely end up in the wrong hands. On top of that, increased military aid will only escalate tensions in Ukraine. Russia treats this fight as an existential matter and will do what it takes to win in Ukraine.
Trying to prolong this conflict will only lead to more destruction and loss of life in Ukraine. Instead, the US must cut off military aid and hand off diplomatic functions to Russia, Ukraine, and other European actors. This is simply not America’s fight.
