Rasmussen Poll: 6 in 10 Voters Say Biden Deserves to be Impeached Over Botched Afghan Withdrawal

A new poll carried out by the polling agency Rasmussen has revealed that 6 in 10 voters say Joe Biden deserves to be impeached over his piss-poor handling of the country’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, which ended up costing the lives of 13 U.S. troops.

Figures from the new survey showed that 60 percent of voters agreed with Senator Lindsey Graham’s statement: “I think Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us and he’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban to a 31 August deadline.”

60 percent of respondents said they “somewhat agree” with Graham’s statement, while 46 percent claimed to “strongly” agree with the statement. Another 37 percent reported that they “somewhat” disagree, and of those, 29 percent “strongly” disagreed that Biden ought to be impeached.

Among those surveyed, Republicans (83 percent), voters between the ages of forty and sixty-four (63 percent), and women (62 percent) were most likely to agree that Joe Biden ought to be impeached over Afghanistan.

But despite the fact that well over half of the country believes that Biden deserves to be impeached, the president’s saving grace looks like it could be that just 38 percent of voters think that Kamala Harris is “qualified” to be president.

Additionally, the national telephone and online survey discovered that 52 percent of Likely U.S Voters think the president should resign over the handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. While 39 percent disagreed that Biden ought to step down as commander-in-chief, 9 percent said they weren’t sure.

The dismal figures come one day after Biden admitted to leaving U.S. citizens behind enemy lines in Afghanistan.

“Now we believe that about 100 to 200 Americans remain in Afghanistan with some intention to leave. Most of those that remain are dual citizens, longtime residents who had earlier decided to stay because of their family roots in Afghanistan,” Biden claimed.

“The bottom line: Ninety percent of Americans in Afghanistan who wanted to leave were able to leave. And for those remaining Americans, there is no deadline. We remain committed to getting them out if they want to come out,” he added.
