Rep. Chip Roy Says Former Vice President Mike Pence Put ‘America First’ for Refusing to Stop Election Fraud on Jan. 6

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) defended his support for former Vice President Mike Pence after Jan. 6 in a Twitter post published on Monday morning.

After being called out by pro-MAGA patriot Alex Bruesewitz for tearing up and thanking Pence’s shameful efforts in refusing to stop election fraud, Roy doubled down and said that Pence’s cowardly actions were “America First.”

The post can be seen here:

Twitter users blistered Roy for his offensive response that spits in the face of the thousands of patriotic whistleblowers who witnessed the robbery take place first hand at polling centers and absent ballot counting locations on election night in 2020:

Big League Politics reported on Roy’s effusive praise of Pence for abdicating his constitutional duty and allowing election fraud to be ignored and swept under the rug on Jan. 6, 2021:

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) often talks tough as a member of the House Freedom Caucus but he is firmly on the side of the election fraudsters and their RINO enablers when it matters.

Roy made that abundantly clear when he thanked former Vice President and national traitor Mike Pence behind closed doors earlier this week for sitting on his hands and refusing to use his authority to delay and block certification of the stolen 2020 presidential election on Jan. 6, 2021.

Jonathan Swan of Axios reported on Roy standing up during a meeting of the Republican Study Committee where he gave effusive praise to Pence, saying how “grateful” he was to Pence for “defending our Constitution” by allowing election fraud to take place.

Roy was one of the most vocal opponents of delaying and investigating election fraud in the lead up to Jan. 6. He urged for Pence and Congressional Republicans to rubber stamp the fraud, hiding behind the Constitution in order to get Trump out of the picture.

“The text of the Constitution is clear,” Roy wrote in a letter justifying his craven inaction. “States elect electors, Congress does not. Accordingly, our path forward is also clear. We must respect the states’ authority here. Though doing so may frustrate our immediate political objectives, we have sworn an oath to promote the Constitution above our policy goals. We must count the electoral votes submitted by the states.”

… Roy poses like a hard-right Republican but exposes himself as a controlled RINO when the rubber meets the road. He and his butt buddy, Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado, are not to be trusted.”

Roy is another “constitutionalist” who fails to take a stand when it counts. No doubt he will be working hard to undermine Trump’s 2024 presidential run in the months to come.
