Rep. Matt Gaetz Blasts Sen. Ted Cruz Over Jan. 6 Comments: ‘The Establishment Will Never Love You, Ted’
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) hit Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) over comments he made calling election integrity protesters who demonstrated in and around the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 “terrorists.”
Gaetz appeared with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) at a press conference where both lawmakers addressed Cruz’s shameful and pathetic remarks.
“I think Sen. Cruz is smart enough to know, since he’s an attorney, that nobody has been charged with terrorism, just like nobody has been charged with insurrection. I think that was very irresponsible of him to call them terrorists, and I completely disagree,” Greene said.
This is when Gaetz interjected with a brutal and well-deserved slam of Lyin’ Ted.
“The establishment will never love you, Ted,” Gaetz said.
“You know, you can bend over at bended knee for them, but they’re just not going to love you. I think that may have been an effort by the good senator who we agree with on many, many things to recast himself in the eyes of some of the folks in your profession but we didn’t find it particularly factual or sincere,” Gaetz added, addressing the reporters covering the press conference.
Gaetz can be seen putting Cruz in his place here:
Big League Politics has reported on Gaetz and Greene taking the lead in fighting for justice for Jan. 6 political prisoners as most elected Republicans look the other way out of cowardice:
“Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Louie Gohmert (R-TX) were locked out of a federal prison where Jan. 6 protesters are being held and reportedly tortured by authorities.
These four intrepid lawmakers have been the elected officials who have cried foul about the alleged mistreatment behind bars of Jan. 6 protesters, the vast majority of whom committed no violence and peacefully protested on that fateful day.
They were locked out of the facility when they attempted to enter:
Eventually, they were able to get in the lobby but reported hostile treatment from Capitol jail staffers and were not allowed to tour the facility:
After being locked out of the jail, Gaetz and Gohmert appeared with Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) for a press conference talking about the systemic injustices being doled out against Trump supporters as well as the attempted cover-up.
“We have two principle responsibilities: to appropriate funds and to conduct oversight. How does the Biden administration expect us to participate in the representative republic when they deprive us of access to information that would inform our oversight work and our appropriations decisions?” he asked.
Gaetz is demanding answers that the feds have stonewalled for months about Jan. 6 defendants being denied evidence. He is also concerned about a possible FBI role in setting up the entire event. He is demanding access to all of the surveillance videos showing what happened in and around the Capitol on that day.”
