Ron DeSantis: ‘There Is No Justification for Military Jab Mandate’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke out Wednesday against the Biden administration’s Covid-19 inoculation mandate for the United States military as numerous servicemembers continue to face discrimination and in many cases firings for their refusal to take the jab.
“[Biden] still insists on imposing vax mandates through the federal government. Yes, we’ve beat him on the business mandate. We’ve not complied with the medical mandate. But they’ve kicked people out of military based on these COVID shots. They’re trying to kick people out of the National Guard around the country based on these,” DeSantis said during a press conference.
“These are shots where you take all these boosters and still get infected. There is no justification to impose those mandates on anybody, and whether it’s federal contractors…whether it’s how some of these people in the military have just been treated so horribly — this is just wrong,” he added.

The Florida governor said that he hopes Joe Biden’s recent bout with a Covid-19 infection will help him realize the mandates do not work and to instead “let people earn a living.”
People are being forced to “choose between a job they need and a shot they don’t want,” DeSantis said.
Breitbart News reported that a total of 7,000 service members have been involuntarily fired from the military after the mandate was officially imposed in August 2021 by Biden Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
It does not stop there — the Army stopped approximately 60,000 soldiers from deploying, training, being paid for federal duty, or even collecting time towards retirement after a deadline went into effect on June 30th.
Thus far, zero active servicemembers have been able to secure religious exemptions for the inoculation. As Breitbart reported, this has resulted in numerous lawsuits which have managed to temporarily block both the Navy and Air Force from punishing service members who are seeking religious exemptions. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley has downplayed how many servicemembers are permanently losing their livelihoods as a result of the mandate, saying, “the numbers are very low,” and that he “would prefer that everybody just go ahead and get vaccinated.”
A reported total 264,830 service members out of 2.1 million have yet to take the Covid-19 inoculations as of July 27, 2022.
