Russia Opposes Attempts to Kick Off Color Revolutions in Central Asia
On May 24, 2023, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared during a press briefing that Russia will not tolerate any attempts to meddle in the affairs of Central Asian states. Namely, the Russian government will firmly oppose efforts to launch color revolutions within the region.
“We are ready to strengthen joint coordination on supporting Central Asian states in ensuring their sovereignty and national development,” Zakharova asserted. “We will not tolerate attempts to carry out color revolutions and external interference in the region’s affairs.”
Zakharova called attention to how the US and its NATO satrapies have dialed up the pressure on Central Asia, which violated the principle of non-interference in the domestic affairs of sovereign states.
“The collective West views interaction with regional countries primarily through the lens of promoting an anti-Russian and now anti-Chinese agenda as well,” she continued.
It’s no secret that the US’s universalist foreign policy tendencies make it one of the most interventionist countries on the planet. As a result, it views the entire globe as a massive chessboard to intervene in.Â
Russia, on the other hand, still views itself as a great power with a sphere of influence that it’s willing to defend and assert itself in. This is something that the Collective West fails to grasp much to its geopolitical detriment.
