Seattle Police Department Tells Small Businesses ‘You’re on Your Own’ After Being Disarmed by Liberal City Officials

The Seattle Police Department began informing small business owners in the city on Friday that the force will have little to no means to prevent crimes from vandals and rioters targeting their businesses, after the Seattle City Council passed an ordinance preventing the city police from using even less-lethal crowd control measures such as pepper spray to deter violent crowds.

Ordinance 119805 prevents the Seattle police from using common law enforcement tools such as pepper spray and tear gas.

The stark admission was made in a letter addressed to Seattle small businesses.

Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd.

For these reasons, Seattle Police will have an adjusted deployment in response to any demonstrations this weekend- as I will never ask our officers to risk their personal safety to protect property without the tools to do so in a safe way.”

Downtown Seattle has suffered from a whopping 525% increase in crime since the start of the now-dismantled Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) project, an anarchist commune in which several people were murdered by self-appointed security.

Consistent rioting and criminal activity continues to occur in the far-left city, with gangs of rioters not only pillaging businesses in the downtown area, but going so far as to attack police precincts themselves with projectiles.

The far left city appears destined for a fate of destruction, with a free pass generously provided to left wing criminals intent on devastating those around them in a hail of violence.
