Senator Dick Durbin Spills the Beans on the Futility of Joe Biden’s Amnesty Plan

Democrats’ dream of passing mass amnesty may have to be put on hold.

According to John Binder of Breitbart News, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin revealed that there isn’t sufficient support in Congress to pass President Joe Biden’s plan to legalize 11 to 22 million illegal aliens.

In February, Democrats in both the House and Senate, introduced the Biden amnesty plan —  H.R. 1177 & S. 348 — in complete disregard to the millions of Americans economically displaced by the government lockdowns, but in total regard with the undeniable trend that migrants generally vote Democrat.

In an interview with CNN on March 15, 2021, Durbin said that the passage of Biden’s amnesty plan is unlikely at the moment.

“I don’t see a means for reaching that,” Durbin said on CNN when pressed on the Biden administration’s radical amnesty plan. “I want it. I think we are much more likely to deal with discrete elements.”

“I think Speaker Pelosi has discovered that she doesn’t have support for the comprehensive bill in the House,” Durbin added. “And it indicates where it is in the Senate as well.”

Binder pointed out something of particular interest:

Nearly 30 House Democrats who are in vulnerable seats ahead of the 2022 midterm elections have been largely silent about Biden’s amnesty plan.

It won’t be until April that the Senate Judiciary Committee makes any concrete moves on immigration legislation, according to Durbin.

Nevertheless, as Binder highlights, Democrats are still moving forward with votes on two amnesties:

This week, House Democrats are planning to vote on two amnesties — one that will provide amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who are enrolled or the beneficiaries of certain programs like the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and another that would give amnesty to illegal alien farm workers.

The farm amnesty counts on a decent amount of support from Republicans:

The illegal farm worker amnesty plan has garnered the support of 10 House Republicans so far, including Reps. Elisa Stefanik (R-NY), Mark Amodei (R-NV), Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Doug LaMalfa (R-CA), Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA), Mike Simpson (R-ID), Fred Upton (R-MI), David Valadao (R-CA), and Jefferson Van Drew (R-NJ).

Binder continued explaining what the farm amnesty would entail:

The amnesty would legalize about 1.5 million illegal aliens who are currently holding U.S. agriculture jobs, cut the wages of future foreign workers who arrive on H-2A visas to work in agriculture, and create a new visa program so foreign workers can compete directly against Americans in the labor market. Already, employers can import an unlimited number of foreign H-2A workers to take U.S. jobs.

Unquestionably, immigration remains dear to the hearts of America First patriots who care about preserving America’s republican institutions. The cultural Left sees immigration as a pivotal tool in their quest to transform America and turn it into a multi-cultural hellscape that would make the Founding Generation shriek in horror.

All amnesty plots must be smoked out and Republicans must offer the reasonable alternative of an immigration moratorium to protect American workers, foster assimilation, and preserve the national character.
