‘Senior Trump Official’ Threatens President in Anonymous New York Times Op-Ed

An alleged “senior official in the Trump administration” wrote an anonymous op-ed piece in the New York Times Wednesday claiming to be part of the “resistance” which contained a thinly veiled threat towards President Donald J. Trump.
“Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over,” the author said.
One way or another? Is a high level Trump administrator threatening the life of the President?
“The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations,” said the author of the piece.
Right wing media has been reporting that top level insiders have been orchestrating a coup against Trump since day one of his presidency, for which the mainstream press, including the Times, has labeled us as lunatics and “conspiracy theorists.”
Much of the op-ed was standard GOP establishment drivel, claiming that Trump is not a “true conservative.”
“Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people,” the author said. “At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.”
This criticism is idiotic at best, considering that the result of the President’s tenure in office has been a vast expansion in liberty and conservatism.
It ends with a rallying cry to ordinary Americans.
“There is a quiet resistance within the administration of people choosing to put country first. But the real difference will be made by everyday citizens rising above politics, reaching across the aisle and resolving to shed the labels in favor of a single one: Americans.”
Trump blasted the paper and the source on Twitter, demanding that the source make him or herself known.
“Does the so-called “Senior Administration Official” really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!” he said.
