SF Bay Area School Board Member Calls To Boycott 4th Of July

Will America ever come together as a nation? Newly leaked social media posts have allegedly revealed the anti-American sentiments of Contra Costa County Board of Education member Anamarie Avila Farias, who called for an all-out boycott on the Fourth of July holiday.

“I haven’t celebrated 4th of July since 2016 and I don’t think it’s a holiday to celebrate,” Farias apparently wrote online.

Screenshots of Farias’ posts posted by famous social media account Libs of Tik Tok described Farias and her institutional role:  “This is an elected board of education member of @CoCoSchools. She is responsible for the education of thousands of children.”

Posts by Farias include her enthusiastic musings to avoid celebrating the Fourth of July, instead preferring to be invited for a burial ceremony featuring the United States flag and Constitution.

One comment shows Faria writing, “I am not feeling particularly patriotic” because “last Friday women’s reproductive rights were taken away!”

This unpatriotic point of view appeared to stem from rulings by the Supreme Court earlier this month that overturned the landmark United States abortion case Roe v. Wade.

The board member’s anti-American views were further developed in her social media comment sections.

“We are not in a place of progress or celebration when human rights are being taken away” Faria wrote of mothers who could no longer abort their children, “I am especially not interested in celebrating a holiday centered around freedom from oppressive government when that freedom is not a reality for so many people in this country.”

Fellow school board member Mike Maxwell offered little pushback on the egregious comments, defending her freedom of speech while saying he “disagree[s] with Avila Farias’ comments but support[s] her right to say them.”

The Post Millenial reported that Farias posted a link 2020 Medium article titled “9 Reasons Why I Don’t Celebrate the 4th of July.” Perhaps not surprisingly, one explanation offered by the far-left piece is that the holiday is allegedly designed for whites only.

Controversies around outspoken Leftist school board members and their radical ideologies became relatively routine after the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown, especially after the proliferation of Zoom and other recording software exposed teaching in the classroom. Some states have begun to take action against such heinous teachings, including Florida which passed a bill codifying numerous parental educational rights into law. Such moves have been at the behest of numerous actors amongst the left-wing and mainstream media, many of whom ridiculously characterized the new legislation as the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill in order to further their political agenda.
