SMART: Elon Musk Says He and His Family Will Reject COVID-19 Vaccine Once It is Available
Musk doesn’t trust Big Pharma.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is planning to reject the COVID-19 vaccine, even after Big Pharma inevitably claims that it will be safe for public consumption.
Musk is catching fire from the liberal elite after telling the New York Times that he is “not at risk for COVID, nor are my kids.”
“I think the reality of COVID is that it is dangerous if you’re elderly and have pre-existing conditions,” he said to the Times in July. “It absolutely makes sense to have a lockdown if you’re vulnerable, but I do not think it makes sense to have a lockdown if you’re not vulnerable.”

Kids are essentially immune, but elderly with existing conditions are vulnerable. Family gatherings with close contact between kids & grandparents probably most risky.

Well said! Please run for office. The politicians & unelected bureaucrats who stole our liberty should be tarred, feathered & thrown out of town!

Big League Politics has reported on the surprising transformation of Musk throughout the Trump era, in which the environmentally-minded futurist has re-invented himself as a populist critic of political correctness and extreme leftism:
As of this afternoon, the universally loathed and distrusted mainstream media has another high profile critic.
“The holier-than-thou hypocrisy of big media companies who lay claim to the truth, but publish only enough to sugarcoat the lie, is why the public no longer respects them,” Musk tweeted…
He went further, blaming the press for stoking the fire that led to the election of President Donald J. Trump.
“Anytime anyone criticizes the media, the media shrieks “You’re just like Trump!,” he said. “Why do you think he got elected in the first place? Because no ones believes you any more. You lost your credibility a long time ago.” …
Musk was replying to a tweet from Andrew J. Hawkins, a writer at The Verge, which is owned by anti-Trump rag Vox.
He then floated the idea of launching a media credibility site…
“Going to create a site where the public can rate the core truth of any article & track the credibility score over time of each journalist, editor & publication,” he said. “Thinking of calling it Pravda…”
Musk may just be crazy enough to do it. He ran a Twitter poll asking his followers if they thought his site would be a good idea. After nearly 280,000 votes, 87% of voters are in favor of the plan…
“If you’re in media & don’t want Pravda to exist, write an article telling your readers to vote against it…” he wrote, referring to his poll.
Most likely, such a site would end up having little value, as ratings would be based on subjective opinions of news consumers. The political left will down vote the political right, and vice versa.
With that said, we admire Musk’s strong blow to the mainstream press.
Whether Musk’s newfound embrace of populism is an act or is authentic, he certainly knows which way the wind is blowing. The public is sick of the status quo and responds positively to powerful individuals who push back against it.

As Trump Leaves Office, Media Cites Ineffectiveness of Lockdowns and Democratic Leaders Display Eagerness to Reopen
Right on cue.

With President Donald Trump’s impending exit from the White House, many are starting to perceive pivots from Democratic leaders and the mainstream media on the ineffectiveness of lockdowns and the reopening of society.
For example, Newsweek ran an article Thursday titled “COVID Lockdowns May Have No Clear Benefit vs Other Voluntary Measures, International Study Shows.” The study, published in the European Journal of Clinical Investigation, found through a mathematical model that there was “no clear, significant beneficial effect of [more restrictive measures] on [COVID-19] case growth in any country.”
This is just one study, of course, so it may not reflect objective reality any more than one study which concludes that lockdowns saved “millions of lives.” But after getting bombarded with messages from the media that lockdowns were necessary—with the opposite message found only on explicitly conservative outlets like Big League Politics—it may seem too coincidental to see such a story while the changing of the presidential guard takes place.
Not only that, it also comes at a time when some Democratic leaders appear to be chomping at the bit to reopen restaurants, bars, and schools—after several months of harsh insistence that they all must stay closed in the name of “safety” and “public health.”
On Monday, for example, Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York called for the reopening of the state’s economy “smartly and safely.”
“We simply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass. The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open. We must reopen the economy, but we must do it smartly and safely,” Cuomo tweeted.

Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot put out a similar call on Thursday, saying that bars and restaurants need to reopen “as quickly as possible” because it will help those businesses survive and reduce the number of large private parties and gatherings.
And incoming president Joe Biden recently pitched a $175 billion plan to return children to school, $130 billion of which would be for public elementary, middle, and high schools, the other $35 billion for colleges and universities. Many teachers unions stubbornly refused to return to in-person classes for the longest time, but now that Biden has come out in support of in-person classes, don’t be surprised to see them suddenly change their tune.
The left is so predictable, isn’t it?
