Socialist Socialite? Ocasio-Cortez Sports $3500 Outfit While Posing With Construction Workers

Ocasio-Cortez is wearing more in this photo than the construction worker makes in a month.

Somehow, I’m guessing the general public cannot relate to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s designer outfit that she donned in a recent photo-op with construction workers.

The 28-year-old Socialist paints herself as just the average ordinary American, trying to make it and achieve the American Dream, but the reality is, the upbringing that she’s described as “working class” is extremely skewed.

Ocasio-Cortez was caught misleading statements about her past when her original biography stated:  “She ended up attending public school 40 minutes north in Yorktown, and much of her life was defined by the 40-minute commute between school and her family in the Bronx.”

Reports quickly surfaced that this was not a true statement. The Daily Mail reported shortly after her win as a Democratic Socialist in the New York’s 14th Congressional District primary race against incumbent Democratic Rep. Joseph Crowley, that Ocasio-Cortez grew up in Yorktown, not the Bronx:

“Though Ocasio-Cortez, 28, was born in and currently lives in the Bronx, county land records show her late father Sergio Cortez-Roman bought a quaint three-bedroom in Yorktown Heights, New York in 1991, when she was about two.”-Daily Mail

Ocasio-Cortez’s biography now states: “She ended up attending public school in Yorktown, 40 minutes north of her birthplace. As a result, much of her early life was spent in transit between her tight-knit extended family in the Bronx & her daily student life.”

In the photo posted on her Instagram account, Ocasio-Cortez wore a $1,990 Gabriela Hearst blazer, paired with an $890 paid of wool-blend green pants also by Gabriela Hearst, and completed the outfit with a pair of Manolo Blahnik pumps at $625.

What a stark contrast between the actual working class and someone who tries to pass themselves off as an “ordinary American.”

Reddit users were quick to call Ocasio-Cortez on her choice to wear the Gabriela Hearst outfit totaling over $3,500 with one Reddit user mentioning how little she tipped waitresses when she worked as a barmaid.

“This so pisses me off,” responded one Reddit user. “Bugs the shit out of me that she wants to raise taxes, pretending to champion the poor….in a $3k outfit.”

“I’ve never met a socialist who had the faintest idea of redistributing a penny of their own money. They’re all about taking all the time,” added another.

“As a barmaid she took all $500 of the tips after a holiday night at the bar, stiffing the waitresses with only $50,” responded another user. “She is only a socialist if she can take as much as she wants and leave the scraps for everyone else.”

Independent Journalist Laura Loomer spotted @Ocasio2018 on September 6th and tweeted: “Have you noticed how well dressed is? She wears designer clothing. How does a “poor girl from the Bronx” who “scrubbed toilets with her mom” & believes in Socialism have a designer wardobe? Newsflash. She doesn’t. The Democrats are pimping her out.”

‘My mother cleaned homes and drove school buses, and when my family was on the brink of foreclosure, I started bartending and waitressing,’ she told MSNBC’s Morning Joe in an interview.

Ocasio-Cortez is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and has been endorsed by the group.

Her platform includes an ‘assault weapons’ ban, abolishing ICE, universal guaranteed employment with $15 as minimum wage and Medicaid for everyone.
