Special Counsel Jack Smith Presses X/Twitter to Cough Up All Information On Every Who Interacted with Former President Trump

In a search warrant that Special Counsel Jack Smith recently sent to X/Twitter, he demanded a large amount of information about the account of former President Donald J. Trump, in addition to information on the millions of accounts that interacted with it. That even includes individuals who liked a tweet by Trump in the period of October 2020 to January 2021.
This heavily redacted search warrant demands that X give up a list of all users who liked or retweeted posts from Trump between October 2020 and January 2021, which includes “all associated logs and metadata,” which could cover location data. In effect, this massive request would have the data of millions of American users being handed over to the Department of Justice.
At first, X/Twitter delayed abiding by the request, according to the New York Post, which resulted in a $350,000 fine imposed on the company.
On top of that, the warrant calls on all IP addresses connected with Trump’s account to be turned over, and a list of every device used to log in to it. As Allum Bokhari of Breitbart News observed, “that means that any staffer or aide who logged into the account would have the information divulged to the special prosecutor.”
Smith requested all pieces of information on Trump’s “connect” and “notification” tabs, in addition to all search history, blocks, mutes, and even drafted tweets.
The warrant directed X/Twitter not to inform Trump of the search order. The company attempted to defeat the warrant in court, but was not successful.
In counter-arguments that superseded X/Twitter’s objection, Smith contended “there is reason to believe notification to the former president, a sophisticated actor with an expansive platform, would result in a statutorily cognizable harm.”
“The [Non Disclosure Order] was granted based on facts showing that notifying the former president would result in destruction of or tampering with evidence, intimidation of potential witnesses, or other serious jeopardy to an investigation or delaying of trial.”
The US Deep State wants to destroy former President Donald Trump. They will pull every stop to ensure that Trump is rendered incapable of running for election in 2024. There must be constant vigilance against these pernicious actors if we want to maintain any semblance of a functional republic from here on out.
