Stormy Daniels denies Trump relationship story

An adult film actress has denied a Jan. 12 report published in The Wall Street Journal that she had a sexual relationship with President Donald J. Trump in 2006.
“If indeed I did have a relationship Donald Trump, trust me, you wouldn’t be reading about it in the news, you would be reading about it in my book,” said Stephanie G. Clifford, better known by her stage name, Stormy Daniels.
Clifford provided a statement via a letter that she sent to Trump’s personal attorney, Micheal D. Cohen, after she learned that rumors were circulating about her alleged involvement with the president.
The Journal reported that Clifford was paid $150,000 in hush money to cover up the affair, which allegedly occurred in 2006. Trump married his current wife, First Lady Melania Trump, in 2005.
“Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false,” she said.
According to Clifford, Trump was gracious, professional, and a complete gentleman, not only to her, but to everyone he encountered in her presence.
“My involvement with Donald Trump was limited to a few public appearances and nothing more,” she said.
This is the second time that this story has made headlines. Early in Nov. 2016, the Journal published a story claiming that the company that owns the National Enquirer, which backed Trump in the 2016 campaign, had paid hush money to Clifford in a similar arrangement.
Cohen said that this rumor has circulated on and off since 2011.
