Supreme Leader of Iran Believes West is Using Ukraine to Further Expand North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)
Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei believes that the West is exploiting the Russo-Ukrainian crisis to justify the further expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
According to Press TV, Ayatollah Khamenei made these comments on June 19, 2022 during a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who paid a visit to Tehran during that weekend.

Ayatollah Khamenei continued by noting that “[Various] issues must be painstakingly monitored and [we] must be careful because the Americans and the West [in general] always seek to expand the scope of their influence in different regions, including in East and West Asia, and scuttle the independence and power of other countries [in those regions].”
As unsavory as the Ayatollah and his regime may be, he raises good points about NATO expansion. The US Deep state has a long history of meddling in the affairs of Iran and continuing to use provocative actions against it, so it’s very well acquainted with US escapades abroad.
It’s small wonder why Iran has entered agreements that would heighten defense cooperation with countries like Russia, which has faced its unique set of security challenges against the Collective West.
As long as the US maintains a hawkish course against both Iran and Russia, both of those countries will strengthen their relations and extend them to China — a move designed to build a broader balancing coalition against US hegemony.
The 21st century is a whole different geopolitical environment. If the US doesn’t adjust by retrenching and at least pursuing a realist foreign, it will be in for a rude awakening on the world stage.
