Texas Governor Greg Abbott Pays Visit to Israel

On November 2, 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt visited Israel to manifest their  support for its war against Hamas.

The governors held a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other high-profile Israeli officials in addition to families impacted by the Hamas attacks of October 7.

“I look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of this horrific war and how we can continue to help Israel safeguard their freedom during this trip,” Abbott declared in a statement. “Texas stands ready to offer our complete and total support to Israel in their fight against brutal terrorist organizations like Hamas.”

The trip was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the Consulate General of Israel to the Southwest.

In Abbott’s case, this is his third visit to Israel since being elected governor in 2014.

He used this trip on November 2 to detail steps he’s taken to fight potential violence or acts of anti-Semitism in the Lone Star State. He announced that he doled out $4 million in grants to 31 Jewish organizations for security purposes and directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to increase public safety measures across Texas to keep tabs on potential threats.

Abbott is just another Republican who is slavishly devoted to Israel. During a time when Texas’ southern border is being completely overwhelmed by illegal alien invaders, Abbott should not be spending even a second on what’s going on in Israel. He should be devoting all his time and resources to defending Texas and making Texans’ quality of life as high as possible.

A Middle Eastern nation thousands of miles away should be of no concern to Texas.
