Texas Governor Greg Abbott Signs Executive Order Banning Vaccine Mandates “By Any Entity”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed an executive order banning vaccine mandates “by any entity” in his state on Monday, in what may amount to the strongest protection against forced vaccination in the country by a state government.

Corporate tyrants who defy the executive order by coercing vaccination on their employees will face fines for violating a lawful executive order under Section 418.173 of the Texas Government Code. The ban on vaccine passports may even go so far as to affect employees of federal agencies and military services stationed in Texas, with the possibility of litigation over conflicting state and federal policies related to the matter.

Abbott has requested the Texas legislature pass new laws banning the implementation of vaccine passports, upon which he’ll rescind the executive order.

Abbott’s executive order ensures that no one in Texas “can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccination by any individual, including an employee or consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19.

Large public companies such as Southwest Airlines have experienced increasing disruption to their services as a result of attempts to implement coronavirus passports, with as many as half of Southwest flights grounded over the weekend as a result of a protest on the part of pilots who object to the bullying.

Abbott supports the vaccine, as do conservative leaders such as Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis. However, he explained that he believes it should only be taken voluntarily, with coercion into taking the vaccine only serving to undermine confidence in its efficacy.
