Texas Senator Ted Cruz Criticizes DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for His Incompetence
During a United States Senate Judiciary Committee hearing toward the end of March, Texas Senator Ted Cruz criticized US Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for failing to secure the southwest border.
As the Homeland Security chief, Mayorkas’ role is to project the US from threats, which includes alien invaders who try to penetrate the southwest border.
When Cruz grilled Mayorkas, the DHS Secretary chose to not describe the conditions at the border as a crisis and refused to say if the situation taking place there actually places Americans in danger.
In the last year, the border crisis has only gotten worse. Per US Customs and Border Protection data, “CBP total encounters in February 2023 were 212,266, up approximately 2% from 208,511 in January 2023.”
Katy Marshall of Texas Scorecard noted that “this is not the first time Mayorkas has faced criticism for his statements about the border crisis.”
Earlier in March, US Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz gave a testimony where he revealed that the US does not have operational control of the southwest border. Ortiz’s statement stands in clear contradiction to previous comments from Mayorkas, who asserted that the US does have operational control of the border.
In the hearing, Cruz put forward an image of wristbands collected along the border and asked Mayorkas if he knew what these bands were being used for. Mayorkas responded that he was unaware about what they were used for.
“Mr. Secretary, you’ve just testified to the American people [that] you’re incompetent at your job,” stated Cruz. “Because I’ve been to the southern border, and if you go to the southern border, along the southern border, you see thousands of these wristbands because the illegal immigrants wear them. Every color corresponds to how many thousands of dollars they owe the cartels. You’ve turned these cartels into multibillion-dollar criminal organizations.”
“These are modern-day leg irons because these are children being sold into sex slavery and you don’t even know what they are,” he continued.
As he concluded his questions, Cruz criticized Mayorkas’ refusal to secure the border and accused him of putting politics over his duty to protect the country from external threats.
“Mr. Secretary, I want to say to you right now, your behavior is disgraceful, and the deaths, the children assaulted, the children raped, they are at your feet,” said Cruz. “And if you had integrity, you would resign. And I will tell you, the men and women of the border patrol, they’ve never had a political leader undermine them. They despise you, Mr. Secretary, because you’re willing to let children be raped to follow political orders.”
Mayorkas did not respond to the criticism, saying, “What the senator said was revolting. I’m not going to address it.”
The Texas Senator nailed it here. Mayorkas has facilitated an unprecedented illegal alien invasion that’s going to create a massive socio-economic crisis if it continues unchecked. On top of that, this invasion will only accelerate the Great Replacement, which will inevitably result in the election of a new people. In effect, the Historic American Nation will cease to exist under these circumstances.
Mayorkas is engaging in high treason here by not securing the border. In a rational society, Mayorka’s treasonous behavior would be punished severely. Allowing for mass migration to persist constitutes the highest form of treason against a people.
