‘The Hunt’ Cancelled for Graphic Depiction of Violence Against Conservatives

The film will not be originally released as planned after a wave of criticism.

A movie about elite liberals paying to hunt conservative Americans in a safari theme park has been cancelled after a wave of criticism, accusing the film of insensitivity to a recent wave of political violence across America.

‘The Hunt’ features a plotline involving elite progressives kidnapping rural Americans and enacting their vengeful, violent fantasies through a hunt-style theme park. The movie starred Betty Gelpin as a kidnapped ‘deplorable’ who seeks to rally other victims of the liberals to escape their predicament.

Universal Pictures, the movie’s publisher, was said to be reconsidering the film’s promotional strategy after the politically charged violence seen at El Paso and Dayton. The company revealed they had decided to cancel the film’s release entirely in a statement to Fox News on Saturday.

While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film.

We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.

It is worth noting that the film’s premise didn’t necessarily imply that it sought to demonize or encourage violence against conservatives. A look at the movie’s trailer reveals the elite liberals are clearly the villains of the film’s plot, a development that was said to leave coastal progressives within the film industry less than thrilled.

The film was originally slated for release on September 27th, a plan that has been cancelled. It’s possible that the movie, which had an economic $18 million budget, will be released on streaming services or cable TV within the coming months and years, when Universal sees its release as more appropriate in a politically tense environment.

Expert Witness Who Testified Against Harvey Weinstein in His Criminal Trial is Hit by Car

Published

on

A forensic pathologist who gave critical testimony during the criminal case of Hollywood sex pervert Harvey Weinstein was hit by a car in recent days, LawandCrime.com has discovered.

Dr. Barbara Ziv is currently in the hospital following the attack with no other details about the situation currently known. She talked about “rape myths” during her testimony at the trial on behalf of the prosecution, blowing many holes through Weinstein’s defense

“Many individuals who are sexually assaulted will tell somebody: a friend. Not everybody, but many,” Ziv testified at the trial in January. “Very few people then will report to a doctor or a counselor or a spiritual advisor, and then the next level is to law enforcement — and even fewer report to law enforcement.”

“As devastating as sexual assault is, most individuals think, ‘Ok, I can put it behind me. I can move on with my life. I don’t want it to get worse. I don’t want this person who sexually assaulted me to ruin my friendships or put my job in jeopardy. I am just going to put it in a box and forget what happened. I don’t want it to get worse,’” Ziv said while appearing in court. “But they can’t.”

“Sometimes women will have subsequent contact with the perpetrator because they can’t really believe that this happened to them,” she added. “They’re hoping that this is just an aberration. You hear that all the time.” Ziv claimed during the trial that it is a myth that “one can determine whether somebody has been raped by their behavior.”

There is no evidence that Dr. Ziv, who also gave testimony during the Bill Cosby trial, was struck in retaliation for giving testimony damning to Weinstein. However, there is a long history of Weinstein exerting intimidation, including levying alleged threats and having individuals followed in order to keep those who may expose his illicit behavior from talking.

Intrepid journalist Ronan Farrow, who has blown the lid off of many Hollywood sex scandals, once said he feared for his safety while writing an exposé of Weinstein.

“I don’t make light of the fact that it was frightening to be in the crosshairs of that,” Farrow said. “I mean, there were times when I feared for my safety and, you know, my sources were telling me to get a gun and I moved out of my apartment.”

Weinstein was not able to escape justice, despite being protected by the entertainment industry for decades. He was found guilty of third-degree rape and other sex crimes in the court of law on Monday. He is scheduled to face another trial in California on different sex crime charges.

Big League Politics will provide updates on Ziv’s condition and the circumstances of her “accident” as the details emerge.
