The US’s Sanctions Against Russia Are Failing
Following the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in late February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said to reporters that the Russian government will “respond with action” to the latest set of sanctions coming from the US by bolstering its economy and raising its citizens’ living standards.
“You know, we will respond with action pertaining to development of our own economy, evolution and strengthening of ties with partners which, unlike the Western minority continuing thinking in colonial and neocolonial terms, have deal-making abilities and build up their economic ties in interests of their people, by raising the standard of living for citizens and providing for prosperity,” Lavrov stated.
Russia will continue to work with nations who aim to have “no dependence on those accustomed to command the world’s economy, plunder and kill peoples of other countries, take their natural resources and riches and live at their expense,” the Russian foreign minister continued.
The West’s sanctions campaign against Russia has clearly failed. Not only is Russia’s economy in solid shape, it’s also joining parallel governing structures such as BRICS. More frighteningly, the Collective West’s punitive actions have pushed Russia into the arms of China, which could form the most dangerous military alliance in modern history. Such an alliance has been forged as a response to US overreach on foreign affairs.
Ultimately, achieving geopolitical stability abroad will require that the US stop intervening abroad and reduce its military footprint in other foreign countries. Its current foreign will either bankrupt it or have it sleepwalk into a geopoltiical conflict of epic proportions.
