The trucker freedom organization Stand As One announced that it has officially endorsed conservative state senator Chris McDaniel in the U.S. Senate election in Mississippi.

McDaniel is running in Tuesday’s election against Democrat Mike Espy and interim appointed senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, who is a former Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton. Hyde-Smith admitted on video that she voted for a budget funding Planned Parenthood. (READ: Cindy Hyde-Smith’s State Director Linked To Hillary Clinton).

If McDaniel beats Hyde-Smith for second place, he will advance to a November 27 run-off against the Democrat. A Change Research poll released the day before the election shows McDaniel leading Hyde-Smith by one point, 28 percent to 27.

“Truckers stand with Chris McDaniel across Mississippi tomorrow. Thousands of Mississippi commercial truck drivers believe the time for true representation of our industry and every industry who is burdened by over regulation have a champion in Chris McDaniel. Your vote matters to our industry. Get out and vote McDaniel in 2018,” said Stand As One national spokesman Charles Claburn.

McDaniel, who bills himself as the only conservative in the race, is focused on helping truckers on issues that matter to them, including the ELD mandate, which forces truckers to stop driving when their electronic logging devices tell them they must stop by law. Many truckers hate the ELD mandate, and McDaniel is seen as the choice for anti-regulation.

McDaniel heard about the news of the endorsement on the campaign trail, and offered his warm gratitude for the truckers’ endorsement.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of truckers in Mississippi, who work every day to provide for their families and all our families. The fight to get onerous governmental regulations off our backs and out of their cabs is a worthy one, and I look forward to fighting beside them in D.C. as we continue to strengthen America’s economy together,” McDaniel stated on the eve of Election Day.
