Trump Endorsement Makes J.D. Vance Frontrunner for U.S. Senate in Ohio

Populist U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance is now the frontrunner to win the Republican nomination for the position after receiving the endorsement of President Donald Trump.

A Fox News poll released on Tuesday shows that Vance has support from 23 percent of Republican primary voters in Ohio. This is a massive jump of 12 points since March.

Vance’s closest competition includes Josh Mandel, who failed to get the Trump endorsement after weeks of lobbying, with 18 percent support. He has dropped two points in the polls since March. The other closest competitor, Mike Gibbons, has dropped like a stone, going from 22 percent support in March to only 13 percent support at the present time.

Trump endorsed Vance earlier in the month, believing that Vance’s intellectual bona fides will make him a tough opponent for a Democrat such as Rep. Tim Ryan, who is expected to be their nominee.

“I’ve studied this race closely and I think J.D. is the most likely to take out the weak, but dangerous, Democrat opponent — dangerous because they will have so much money to spend,” Trump said.

“It is time for the MAGA movement … to unite behind J.D.’s campaign because, unlike so many pretenders and wannabes, he will put America First,” the president added.

In addition to earning Trump’s support, the President’s namesake and first-born son is also very much on board for Vance’s candidacy:

Big League Politics has reported on Vance’s emergence in recent months, particularly on the important issue of keeping U.S. troops out of foreign conflicts:

Ohio U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance is hammering his opponents Josh Mandel and Mike Gibbons for their support of a no-fly zone in Ukraine.

“I want to address something that happened at last night’s debate where both Josh Mandel and Mike Gibbons endorsed a “European-led no-fly zone,” it’s important to understand what that means. So, if Europe shoots down Russian airplanes to enforce a no-fly zone and then the Russians shoot back, now America is involved, because under NATO, Article 5, we’re actually obligated to defend our European allies when they come under attack,” Vance stated.

Vance said that the policies that are being advocated by his competitors would likely provoke a conflict between the U.S. and Russia, which may result in World War 3.

“So, in other words, a European-led no-fly zone is actually an American-led no-fly zone, which sounds nice maybe in theory, but in practice, it means a full scale conflict with Russia. Now I find it preposterous that so-called America First conservatives would advocate allowing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris – that’s actually who’s in charge of the country right now – to lead us into a conflict with a much more powerful country than any we have fought in the last 30 or 40 years,” Vance said.

“It is not America First to give Joe Biden more power. It is not America First to ignore the problems of your own country and to focus instead on Ukraine. And it is not America First to allow our sons and daughters to die in a war that is not in our national interest,” he added.

Vance has come a long way from being an anti-Trumper to one of the top prospects for Trump’s nascent “America First” GOP. He will be a great Senator if Trump supporters can get him across the finish line.
