Trump Supporting Protestors Storm Capitol, Halt Electoral College Count Proceedings
Protestors entered the Capitol building on Wednesday as Members of Congress and Senators engaged in electoral college count proceedings, forcing the capitol on lockdown and disrupting the proceedings.
Capitol police appeared overwhelmed by the crowd of protestors outside of Congress, and demonstrators were able to enter the building. It appears that some protestors broke their way into the capitol. Legislators were evacuated from the proceedings as the protests spiraled out of hand.
A small group of protestors entered the Senate legislative chamber, with one protestor even appearing at the Senate President’s dias.
President Donald Trump urged his supporters to remain peaceful and to respect Capitol police.
Reports have emerged suggesting that at least one demonstrator was shot by law enforcement.
The situation is rapidly developing, and Big League Politics is monitoring for further updates.
