TRUMP: U.S. Will Send Armed Troops to Border

President Donald J. Trump announced on Twitter this morning that the United States will send armed troops to the southern border with Mexico.

“Mexico’s Soldiers recently pulled guns on our National Guard Soldiers, probably as a diversionary tactic for drug smugglers on the Border. Better not happen again! We are now sending ARMED SOLDIERS to the Border. Mexico is not doing nearly enough in apprehending & returning!” he said.

On April 13, two U.S. Army Soldiers were disarmed and detained by Mexican troops at the border in an embarrassing display. Trump has now made it clear that the U.S. will not tolerate such behavior.

The announcement comes as gridlock in Washington, D.C. continues on the subject of border security. Democrats refused to fund border wall operations in the 2019 Fiscal Year budget bill, forcing Trump to take matters into his own hands.

Big League Politics reported:

President Donald J. Trump has declared a national state of emergency, for which several heavily-blue states immediately sued his administration. Democrats refuse to budge on the issue, unwilling to secure America’s borders. As illegal border crossings surge, they blocked a meaningful amount of wall funding in the 2019 federal budget.

In what many conservatives see as a colossal failure, the Republican Congress, led by former Speaker Paul Ryan, current Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, failed to deliver wall funding to the president’s desk during all of 2017 and 2018, when Republicans held the House, the Senate, and the White House.
